Saimoe update 8/2
Three-way tie for fourteenth place yesterday, with the entire round having a very tight band of voting - the difference between 5th and 14th was 15 votes.
There's definitely characters making it in that aren't necessarily moe at this point. Clare isn't moe at all, unless you're talking blond moe, or Berserk moe, and if there's a Berserk moe I'm not sure the term has any meaning anymore. Yukiji isn't moe unless being the older sister of someone with some moe is moe (and she's a bit of a jerk to boot; ah well, it's a comedy.) At this point, we're basically filling up the bracket, against the chance of a dark horse or two having been knocked out in the first elimination.
It's Manabi Straight day today. Manabi and Momo are going to go 1-2, though I haven't seen the show and don't know which one is really more moe. Don't know a lot of the competing characters today, don't really care much for some of the ones I do know. But I'd be very surprised if Agito doesn't do well (so far being six inches tall is definitely a bonus, and she had a very sympathetic episode last week... and she's the spitting image of Etna!) I also actually like Chachamaru, who is essentially a moebot...
Two more rounds after this, then we get a couple of days off, and then the actual tournament begins.

Moe has different meanings to different people. No point in trying to pigeonhole the concept of moe.
