Saimoe second prelim results 7/29, round 7/30
And we have a tie! With two characters tied for 16th place, an extra character will sneak into the tournament. This happened last year too, actually; they just adjust the first round so that one of the matches has four entries instead of three.
No complaints about the results - everyone I expected to make it made it, and everybody I didn't want to make it didn't. Can't beat that.
Today's round is much weaker, relatively speaking - fewer high performers from the first round. Manaka from To Heart 2 is a shoo-in; she could have placed as high as third in many of the first groups, with well over four hundred votes. Also keep a lookout for Ibara-hime from Otogi Jushi Akazukin, Kagome from Strawberry Panic, Viletta from Code Geass, Ellis from El Caldazor de la Bruja, and Nagasumi's mother from Seto no Hanayome (unnamed character, but she's a lot more than a bit part; how'd she not get a first name in production?)

Wow, that was too close. I'm a big fan of Venus Versus Virus, so I did a bit of stumping yesterday among friends who normally don't participate in SaiMoe to get out the vote for Lucia. Looks like it was just barely enough! *sweatdrop*
In addition to your picks, I'd also guess Liru and Aiko from MagiPoka to make it, and of course I'd be happy if Lola from Venus Versus Virus also managed to get in as well.
